Started in 2002, the Oriental Cultural Research Program is an international exchange program that contributes to international exchanges and cooperation among academic researchers of Chinese culture.
The program targets cultural experts, sinologists, scholars and professional researchers of Chinese culture.
It encourages them to exchange ideas, and enhances the world’s understanding of different cultures, and peaceful co-existence, by promoting academic dialogue through seminars and forums.
The program has launched a dozen of international exchange projects, including the seminar China’s Today and Tomorrow, a gathering of Chinese and Russian scholars. Many foreign governmental officials and cultural experts have been invited to visit China, including directors of national museums in Hungary, Bulgaria,Serbia, Azerbaijan and Moldova; Gusev, Chairman of Knowledge Economy and Innovation Sub-Committee in Russian State Duma’s Cultural Committee, the Romania sinologist Luo Ming, the Bangladesh writer Hasna Jasimuddin Moudud, and Dr.Josef Wallnig at the Mozarteum University.
In addition, the program provides information services to sinologists and Chinese culture researchers, and has funded the publishing of several books about Chinese culture.
For participants visiting China, accommodation, domestic transportation as well as other related expenses will be borne by the Chinese side during their visits, and the expense of international trips by the participants.
For participants visiting foreign countries, the cost of international trips will be borne by the Chinese side, and the accommodation, transportation and other related expenses by the foreign party.
