China International Youth Arts Festival is a unique platform for young artists to demonstrate their energy, dreams and responsibilities. The festival contributes to the construction of a harmonious international community by bringing young people together while sharing perspectives and fostering cultural understanding.
Its mission is to accelerate cultural exchange and the development of art among young people across the globe, and showcase cultural diversity to promote world peace.
The festival has a reputation for its simple operation, rich content and careful selection of programs, which has attracted thousands of young artists from around the world. Up to and including 2012, the festival has seen thousands of young participants from over 30 countries and regions.
Started in 2008, the event is now in its fifth year. As the first government- sponsored multicultural festival designed for the youth, it has received enormous governmental and social support, including Cai Wu, the Minister of Culture; Sun Jiazheng,Chairman of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and Wu Zuqiang, a professor at the Central Conservatory of Music who now acts as an artistic adviser to the festival.
In addition, more than 70 major newspapers and websites - some from America,Britain, Singapore and Poland - have covered the festival.
Many Chinese artists, including the singer Tan Jing, actress Zhang Jingchu and pianist Lang Lang, have acted as brand ambassadors and created a popular image of the China International Youth Arts Festival.
