Launched in 2012, the management training program exists to increase the capacity of professionals in the cultural sector for global exchange and cooperation.
The training program provides the participants with advanced management expertise and opportunities to examine the best foreign practices, catering to the rising need for professional management in domestic cultural organizations and state-owned troupes, which are undergoing an intense reform of business models and management structures.
In light of the current development of Chinese theaters and troupes, the training program focuses on helping people in business improve their performance in order to build positive, steady, and profitable results through field study, multilateral interaction and application of managerial know-how.
The first session was specific to managers of domestic theaters and art groups.
The program has forged partnership among many arts institutions, including China’s National Center for the Performing Arts, the China Oriental Performing Arts Group, the British Council and the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in America.
The program is expected to grow into a long-term training series to provide more support and guidance to companies, organizations and individuals.
